John Lee | Fujisan Katana | Black
Fujisan Katana | John Lee – Traditional Japanese decorative sword with 1045 carbon steel blade
This decorative katana features a hand-forged blade made from 1045 carbon steel, folded 12 times to create a unique Damascus pattern. With a total length of 104cm and weight of 1050g, this black finished sword serves as a traditional Japanese display piece for collectors.
Construction and materials
The blade measures 73cm in length with a tanto profile and plain edge. Crafted from 1045 carbon steel, the blade incorporates a bo-hi (fuller) for improved balance. The handle features genuine ray skin (same) wrapped with black cotton cord, while the wooden scabbard has a black lacquered finish. The square tsuba displays Mount Fuji imagery.
Application and use
This katana is designed exclusively as a decorative display piece for collectors of Japanese swords and traditional craftsmanship. Suitable for mounting on wall displays or sword stands in private collections, museums, or martial arts dojos. Not intended for practical use, cutting practice, or training applications.
Integration and compatibility
Compatible with standard katana display stands and wall mounts designed for swords of 104cm total length. The 30.5cm handle accommodates standard tsuba and fittings. Ships complete with matching saya (scabbard) for traditional display presentation.
Maintenance and lifecycle
The 1045 carbon steel blade requires regular maintenance to prevent rust. Apply a thin layer of oil periodically and store in dry conditions. The black lacquered scabbard maintains its finish with minimal care when displayed in normal indoor environments.
