John Lee | Golden Flower Katana | Black
Golden Flower Katana – Traditional display sword with Damascus pattern
This decorative katana features a 1045 carbon steel blade with a 12-fold Damascus structure. The sword measures 104cm in total length with a 73cm blade and weighs 1050g without scabbard. The blade incorporates a Bo-Hi groove for improved balance.
Construction and materials
The blade is forged from 1045 carbon steel with a distinctive Damascus pattern from the folding process. The handle features genuine ray skin (same) wrapped in black cotton cord. The tsuba guard is constructed from zinc-aluminium-bronze with gold paint accents, while the habaki collar is brass. The wooden presentation box displays a floral motif.
Application and use
This katana serves as a display piece for collectors of Japanese swords and traditional weaponry. Suitable for wall mounting or stand display in collections, offices, or martial arts dojos. Not intended for practical cutting or training applications.
Integration and compatibility
The sword comes with a lacquered wooden saya (scabbard) finished in black. Standard katana display stands accommodate the traditional dimensions. The tanto blade profile and traditional fittings ensure compatibility with most katana mounting systems.
Maintenance and lifecycle
The 1045 carbon steel blade requires regular oiling to prevent rust formation. Store in a dry environment and dust periodically. The lacquered scabbard and brass fittings maintain their finish with minimal care.
